Rewires & Electrical Alterations

Full rewires, partial rewires and circuit alterations for renovations, extensions and older homes that are due an update.

If your home still has old rubber or fabric-insulated cabling, few sockets in each room, or wiring that has been added to over many decades, a full or partial rewire brings your electrics up to modern standards and gives you the power you actually need.

For extensions, loft conversions and larger renovations, we plan and install new circuits that integrate cleanly with your existing installation, and update anything that needs to change as a result.

What a rewire typically involves

  • Planning circuits around how you actually live
  • First fix: cables, back boxes and containment
  • Second fix: accessories, lighting and consumer unit
  • Full inspection, testing and certification
  • Making good, so decorating can follow smoothly

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to move out during a rewire?

Not always. For full rewires it's often easier, but many partial rewires and alterations can be done while you stay in the property.

How much mess is involved?

There's some — cables need routes through walls and ceilings — but we plan carefully and clean as we go. Making good is discussed up front so there are no surprises.

Do you do just part of a house?

Yes, partial rewires are common — for example a kitchen, bathroom or upstairs floor as part of a wider refurb.
