Renovation Rewires

Full and partial rewires carried out during a renovation, sequenced between the structural work and the plasterer, with old cable removed and the whole installation certified.

A renovation is the cheapest time a house will ever be rewired. Floors are up, ceilings are down and walls are being made good anyway, so most of the mess that makes a standalone rewire expensive has already been paid for by another trade.

The catch is sequencing. First fix has a narrow window, and if it is missed the plasterer waits. We work to the builder's programme and confirm the dates directly with them so nothing stalls.

How a renovation rewire runs

  • Survey and circuit design around how you will use each room
  • Strip out, with accessible old cable removed rather than left
  • First fix cabling, back boxes and containment
  • Second fix accessories, fittings and consumer unit
  • Data cabling and spare routes for future EV or garden supplies
  • Inspection, testing, certification and notification

Common reasons customers call us

The house is being renovated and the wiring is original or unknown.

Floors and ceilings are already open, so access will never be cheaper.

Part of the house was rewired before and only the rest needs doing.

You want sockets and data planned around the new furniture layout.

An inspection has flagged items that a rewire would resolve outright.

You want the whole installation certified as one at the end.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be done in phases?

Yes. We design the circuits so each phase is complete and certified in its own right.

Do you take the old cable out?

Where it is accessible, yes. Leaving dead cable in the fabric confuses whoever comes next.

Full rewire or partial?

We test what is there first. If earlier work is sound there is no reason to replace it.

Will you work to our builder's dates?

Routinely. Give us the programme and we will slot first fix in without holding the plasterer up.
