Comparing electricians is difficult because quotes are rarely written to the same level of detail. These are the questions we would ask if we were the customer, and we are happy to be judged against them.
Questions worth asking
The answers tell you as much about how the job will run as about the price.
- Which certificate will I receive at the end?
- Is the work notifiable, and who notifies it?
- What is excluded — plastering, decorating, flooring?
- Will the same person do the work as quoted it?
- What happens if you find something unexpected once you open up?
Warning signs
A firm price for a rewire given over the phone without a visit. No mention of testing or certification. Pressure to decide today. Cash-only arrangements with no paperwork. None of these are automatically dishonest, but together they describe a job you will struggle to prove was done properly.
What we commit to
A booked visit before quoting anything substantial, a written scope, brand-name components, tidy working, and the correct certificate emailed at the end. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and we say so rather than implying round-the-clock availability we do not offer.

- Do you charge for quotes?
- For most domestic work the initial visit and written quote are free.
- Do you take deposits?
- For larger jobs with material orders we may ask for a materials deposit, agreed in writing first.
- Can you pick up an unfinished job?
- Yes, provided we can test what has already been installed before continuing.
- What areas do you cover?
- We are based in High Wycombe and work across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey.
