EICR Inspections for Benson Homes
Reliable EICR across Benson and the surrounding Oxfordshire villages within a practical service radius.
The Benson coverage area we work in most weeks stretches into Wallingford, Watlington and Ewelme. Journey times from our base in High Wycombe (HP11) are short enough that same-week visits are the norm rather than the exception. The work itself — EICR — is one of the things we take on for domestic customers day-to-day, not a sideline.
Based at 14 Kelly Road, High Wycombe HP11 1BW. Domestic only.
Common EICR jobs we see in Benson
a landlord meeting the five-year periodic requirement
a home owner acting on a mortgage-lender request
an owner wanting a baseline before starting a rewire discussion
an insurer asking for a current EICR after a claim

What we look at during the inspection
- 1
Book a slot
Most EICRs take 3–4 hours for a typical family home. We'll agree a start time that lets us finish in one visit.
- 2
Inspect and test
We open the consumer unit, sample accessories on each circuit, and record insulation, continuity and RCD readings.
- 3
Report
You receive a signed EICR by email with a schedule of test results and any C1, C2 or FI observations explained in plain English.
Questions we get asked most
- How often should a home have one?
- Owner-occupied homes: at least every 10 years or on change of occupancy. Rented homes: every 5 years.
- How long does an EICR take?
- 3–4 hours for a typical 3-bedroom house. Larger properties and older installations take longer because of the sampling and note-taking.
- Do you handle the remedial work as well?
- Yes, but you're free to use the report with any qualified electrician — the EICR is yours.
- Is an EICR the same as a PAT test?
- No — an EICR covers the fixed installation. PAT covers plug-in appliances and isn't part of an EICR.
