What we look at during the inspection

  1. 1

    Book a slot

Most EICRs take 3–4 hours for a typical family home. We'll agree a start time that lets us finish in one visit.

  2. 2

    Inspect and test

We open the consumer unit, sample accessories on each circuit, and record insulation, continuity and RCD readings.

  3. 3

    Report

You receive a signed EICR by email with a schedule of test results and any C1, C2 or FI observations explained in plain English.

Questions we get asked most

Is an EICR the same as a PAT test?
No — an EICR covers the fixed installation. PAT covers plug-in appliances and isn't part of an EICR.
Will you sign off work someone else did?
We can inspect and report on it, but we won't put our name on an installation certificate for work we didn't carry out.
How often should a home have one?
Owner-occupied homes: at least every 10 years or on change of occupancy. Rented homes: every 5 years.
Do you handle the remedial work as well?
Yes, but you're free to use the report with any qualified electrician — the EICR is yours.
